Tanong ko lng sana hindi ba strict ang immigration ng malaysia for Filipino? Kasi ngayon nandito ako sa singapore nagtatrabaho at inaantay ko pa matapos ang processing ng papers ng asawa ko. Balak po sana namin tumira muna sa Johor habang inaantay ang result. Hindi ba strict ang immigration ng malaysia pag nag labas masok sa kanila every month? anu ang dapat na gagawin? any tips..

Dawn: “Jakun” -> I had to laugh at that ;) But I know what you mean. The towers were not here when I first came to Malaysia in 1993 either. So, yeah. They bring back a lot of memories for me, too.

[NB: To Cebuanos, 'jakun' means the same thing as 'manol'! I can't think of a direct translation in English for it.]

The first time I saw the twin towers in 2007, I was so touched! I was going “wow”, “wah” and my friend said you so “jakun”…well, I can’t helped it…the towers weren’t there when I left M’sia in 1997. The same with the KL Tower! The last I was in KL (1994) the base of the KL tower was just starting to sprout! I am still in awe of the twin towers even after seeing it.

hi mimi! i guess it’s a “disease”, meaning people taking for granted what is always there and what they always see. for example, my mother is from bicol, and we have the majestic mayon volcano as our site whenever we open the window of our house there. i am always awed by it’s majestic shape and by its mere presence. but my cousins who live there don’t take notice anymore. panu nga naman daw, they see it every day.

KG: most inhabitants of KL probably tend to take these 2 towers for granted but i still admire them every time i pass by. they’re an engineering and architectural feat…and still hold the record as the tallest twin towers in the world.
