As fellow married-to-Malaysian-Filipina-mother-and-photographer Stephanie (except that she’s a much better photographer than me) commented in my previous post, the Nikon D90 has yet another nifty feature — video mode. With sound, of course. The main drawback is that it doesn’t focus automatically so you have to be a bit careful with it and not treat it like video mode of a point-and-shoot camera.
Critics have voiced negative opinions about how it can’t replace a proper video camera. Of course it doesn’t. If you want video quality of a video camera, I say, buy a video camera. But if your main concern is a fast camera that shoots beautiful pics and can take video for those moments in life that are best recorded as a short movie instead of a still photograph, then the D90 may just be the gadget for you.
Here is a video I’ve taken with my brand-spanking-new D90 — how to boil eggs in a volcano’s crater.
Video taken at Tangkuban Parahu, Bandung, Indonesia.
Full post on the trip sometime in the next few days. Things having been very hectic in the office, plus the fact that the twins have been so demanding lately after they had chicken pox, one after another, left me with very little time and energy to write long posts.

Coooool!
Oh, my….What a lot of difference watching ‘action’ through the video! I was admiring it in wonder. Wonderful! Very nice!!!!
I never tire watching the video many times. Very amazing!!!
