After a harrowing 12-hour flight back home (Capetown-KL via Johannesburg), it feels so good to be home again. No thanks to bad weather, there were several instances of considerably prolonged turbulence during the flight which kept me wide awake in terror.
I may be home now, but I’m sleep-deprived and badly in need of rest. Hence, the pics that I posted via Twitter would have to do for now:-
The city of Capetown viewed from the top of Table Mountain. We stayed a good hour or so up there. The view was just fantastic!
Hostile lioness getting ready to ‘attack’. An electric fence separated us but since I was viewing it through a (borrowed) 18-200mm zoom lens, it felt like there was nothing separating us. I never knew a lion’s (or lioness’) roar can strike so much fear in a human heart!
Magnificent view from the lighthouse on top of Cape Point at Cape of Good Hope National Park, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Ocean waters in all directions, as far as the eye can see.
Pics of Capetown and Cape Point taken with my trusty old Nokia N82. Pic of the lioness taken with my D40 but resized for mobile uploading. Watch out for the ‘proper’ pics in my coming posts.
Have a great weekend everyone!

great pics!.. welcome back to blogosphere and KL, hope you have a good rest and happy weekend.
that’s a rather in-your-face photo of the lioness! thank goodness for powerful zoom lens!
You went to South Africa? Is it true that its quite dangerous when your alone roaming in the city?
A nice preview of what’s about to come! Looking forward to your posts about Capetown!
rosse: thanks. i’ve been sleeping every chance i could get this weekend hehe.
fortuitous faery: (do you realise how difficult it is to type yr nick? hehe) the zoom lens made me forget how far away the lioness was. it took a long time for my pulse to normalise!
blogusvox: yup, i was in capetown. i don’t know about the safety conditions coz we had locals with us all the time. the one time we went out exploring the city on foot, it was early morning and very quiet because it was a public holiday.
garando: hay naku! i have so much backlog to cover :) i’m done even done with my posts on amsterdam and belgium yet!
“I never knew a lion’s (or lioness’) roar can strike so much fear in a human heart!” – I want to see one, too!
the lion’s roar, coupled with its apparent proximity (due to my zoom lens), really had me shaking like leaf in the wind after the whole thing!
Well, what can I say, the pics are lovely, and i love that lion…but it’s roar, i don’t think i have the heart to listen to. Ganda talaga ng shots…
