Happiness Is…

Posted by Mimi on 26 February 2009

happiness

  • the warmth and tightness of my children’s hugs that just take my breath away
  • the tranquil sound of silence, after a long and crazy day
  • the cool sweetness of water to soothe my parched throat
  • the delicate fragrance of flowers, a balm to my soul
  • the sight of the majestic beauty of nature, which is but an inkling of the unparalleled perfection of Paradise

What does happiness mean to you? My good friend, Odette, wants to know. A free hotel stay, a trip to the beach, and a long weekend are all lovely, but she wants your answers to specifically involve the use of your five senses only. List them down and you just might get some presents from her if you do! Hurry over to her blog now. Her birthday giveaway ends 28th February.

mmm… hugs.. yes, lovely indeed :) i think i’ve read somewhere about an experiment done on baby chimpanzees. one group had a wire dummy as a ‘mother’, another group also had a dummy but it was made of a furry type of material. the first group ended up with behavioural problems. the second group thrived better. it proved just how strong and how important touch is to primates. how much more to humans?

happiness, for me when and I have a good laugh with someone over a joke.
On the other side, happiness is when I am at peace with God and with myself.

the power of hugs cannot be underestimated, it’s more like automatic physical transmission of loving emotions. sometimes, a hug can say everything that words can’t.

i think nothing beats the happiness we get from the children’s hug. that’s sweetest happiness, i guess.

a child hugs spontaneously, freely, unconditionally, without reservations. that’s why it’s so precious!
