I may have been swamped with meetings this week but the upside is that most of those meetings were in venues that made them quite pleasant. There was the dinner meeting at Sheraton Subang’s Japanese restaurant where I found out something curious about Koreans and lizards. Then the meeting at the 41st floor of Tower 2 of the Petronas Twin Towers. And, this morning, the Club Lounge at the 24th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.
The Club Lounge is exclusive to the hotel’s guests who stay at the Club Floor (also known as Executive Floor in other hotels). And I managed to get in there because my meeting is with this business associate who’s staying at Mandarin Oriental’s Club Floor.
The lounge is cozy in its understated elegance, decorated in tones of cream, beige and brown. The carpeted floor mutes my footsteps as I walk across and look for a place to wait for my contact.

I pick a table whose height is suitable for typing into my beloved brand-spanking-new MacBook Pro and sink into the soft but firm armchair.
The Petronas Twin Towers are visible just outside the windows on one side of the lounge.
Can you see the sky bridge? It joins the two towers at the 41st and 42nd floors. Some scenes of Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ movie ‘Entrapment’ were filmed in that bridge.
That’s the Suria KLCC shopping mall at the base of the famous towers. It sure looks different from up here. ‘Suria’ actually means ‘sun’, hence it’s sun-like purple logo.
From another side of the Club Lounge, the verdant KLCC park provides a refreshing sight. No digital signage in sight in this part of the city, if you notice. Just high-rise buildings and lots of greenery all around.
So here I am, as snug as a bug in a rug, sipping my complimentary cappucino, typing this quick post to be uploaded later, answering a few text messages on my phone and just soaking up the wonderful ambience of the Club Lounge, as I wait for my business associate to re-join me. Classical music is playing softly in the background. Sunshine is streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows. In a place like this, even if the meeting stretches for hours, I don’t think I’d mind at all!
All pics taken with my Nokia N82.

Nice view! The Petronas towers look like it’s just a stretch of your arms away! Or is it? :)
Very cool place, I love it!
Ah, sometimes it’s nice to taste good life too.:-) Enjoy moments like this. Not everyone will have that chance to go into an exclusive hotel.
Nice shots!!!! Good angles!!!
Nakakalula, if I’ll be sitting by the window.
BTW Mimi, I’ve got something for you here “http://blogusvox.blogspot.com/2009/01/tag-and-award.html”.
blogusvox: thanks. i’ll try to get it done one of these days.
Great! Thank you very much!
I always wanted to write in my blog something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
Of course, I will add backlink?
