It’s a bird!
It’s a plane!
It’s… it’s….
It’s Super Mimi! :D

This photo was taken in July 2006 when we were on holiday in Bali with a Canon IXUS 55. When this photo was taken, there happened to be a plane flying past (on the right hand side, just a bit above me). Excellent timing, huh? ;)
My friend signed me up for para-sailing and I was too chicken to tell her that I was petrified. But I was glad I went ahead and did it because I ended up having the best time of my life.
The moment I got over the initial feeling of fear and just let go, I felt complete and utter peace, which reminded me of the same calmness that envelops me whenever I go snorkeling.

Look, Ma. No hands!
It felt exhilarating as I soared like a bird, looking down on the island and the deep blue sea.

See the tiny speedboat pulling me down there? I was linked to it with a huge rope. I thought to myself, in the worst case scenario of the rope snapping off, I’ve got the parachute to slow down my fall…and if I fall, I’ll fall into the sea and swim… so why worry? ;)
Special thanks to DH for keeping an eye on the twins while their mama was off flying! There were only 6 months old back then.

Wow, what guts you have! When we were in Boracay, hubby and I have been contemplating on trying out parasailing, but i chickened out, we just had the island tour, the kids enjoyed it as much as we did…
aww…sayang! you really should try it next time :)
I was gonna ask you if it was a real plane :)
When we were in Penang, I wanted to try para sailing. Just didn’t find the right time. But I will do it one day..hehe.
OMG, so brave! I have fear of heights. I’m even scared to get through an escalator ride if it’s too tall and thin like in some of the malls here. =)
You are really brave. I wonder if I could do it.
i want to go para-sailing! i wanted to conquer my fear of heights, i was too coward to do the wall climbing, i think i need to steal some courage from you, lol. Good morning :)
start by thinking: “i can do it”! you can never know what you can do until you try :)
Did that once in Thailand, in Pattaya if I’m not mistaken. It was really great, though only for a short moment.
i wished it lasted longer, too!
you are so brave, mimi! i don’t know if i can ever do that, given the chance. i have fear of heights, eh. i can probably do that but it wouldn’t be as much fun if my eyes were closed the whole time! hahaha!
galing galing! :)
