BlogusVox - Maraming salamat sa pagdalaw mo. Mooncake is different from tikoy. Mooncake is more like a bigger version of the hopia, but with different fillings and tends to be much sweeter.

Sinta - I wonder if there are still mooncakes available by now. If there are, hopefully marked down! ;) Re: knitting, I've always wanted to learn but never got the time nor patience for it. Besides, I live in hot and humid Asia. I wouldn't know what to do with so much knitted stuff hehe.

Kayni - Erm, technically, Hongkong is part of China now but I've always thought of it as a separate country hehe. I forgot to include Vietnam. This site explains the slight differences among these countries' celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival -> http://www.chiff.com/home_life/holiday/harvest-moon-festival.htm

They look good. I saw a lot of these at the Chinese store I go to. Now I'm intrigued and would like to taste one, that's my plan for this week. By the way, you mentioned five countries celebrating this occasion, do they all have the same historical reasons for celebrating it?

I miss mooncakes! I really should pass by the Chinese market and get some this week :) Thanks for visiting my blog. I've added you to Google Reader! It's amazing how one can find time. When I watch movies in the evening, I just pick up my knitting and at the end, might have a scarf done :) Hope you can join the swap one day.

Hi! just drop by to say "Happy Moon Festival".

At first I thought this celebration has religious significance, now I know. Thanks for the info.

re: Mooncake. Is it the same as "tekoy" the chinese gave during chinese newyear?

i like mooncakes, too, but prefer the traditional fillings of lotus paste and red bean over the modern, exotic flavours.

thanks for dropping by!
